Public Binance fee page
Public Binance fee page, captured September 2026. Rates, tiers and discounts depend on the current signed-in page and completed trade record.

The BNB switch is on, but a trade still charged the fee in another asset. Before changing the setting again, open that fill and check the fee asset. The switch expresses a preference; the completed record shows whether the payment actually used BNB.

Check the BNB fee-payment setting

Open the official trading fee page and the fee-payment preference in your signed-in account. Product categories may have separate controls. A screenshot from another account does not establish your setting.

Read the current terms shown beside the option; the discount level and eligible products can change.

Follow one completed fee through the records

Start with the completed fill rather than the order ticket. Record the trading pair, fill time, executed quantity, fee amount and fee asset. Next, open the account fee page for the same product and confirm the tier and maker or taker rate that applied. Then check whether the BNB payment switch was enabled at that time and whether spendable BNB was available. Finally, match the BNB deduction in the asset history. Use each screen for the question it can answer; the switch alone cannot prove that BNB paid a particular fee.

  1. Fill record: establishes what executed and which asset paid the fee.
  2. Fee schedule: supplies the applicable base or account rate.
  3. Preference: shows whether BNB payment was selected, not whether every product accepted it.
  4. Asset history: confirms the actual deduction and helps explain rounding.

Note the account timezone before comparing timestamps. If a tier, campaign or setting changed later, today’s page may not reproduce the earlier state. Ask official support about the historical record when the signed-in data remains inconsistent.

What asset actually paid the fee?

If the fee asset is BNB, compare the quantity deducted with the completed fill and the account’s applicable rate. A fiat estimate can differ slightly because BNB has its own market price and interfaces may display rounded conversions.

If the fee asset is the base or quote asset, first confirm that the BNB setting was on and that enough BNB was available. Then check product eligibility and the account notice. Do not assume the platform malfunctioned: an unavailable balance, a product boundary or a changed term can produce that result.

If several fee assets appear for one order, inspect every fill. A multi-fill order can span changing available balances or recorded conditions. Sum like assets separately before converting them for reporting, and keep the original quantities so an exchange-rate estimate does not overwrite the original deduction.

A total BNB balance may not be available

The wallet total is not always the spendable amount. BNB committed to an open order, another wallet or product, or a pending operation may be visible but unavailable for the next fee. Check the balance in the relevant wallet and the available field immediately before relying on the setting. Never cancel another position merely to preserve a small fee estimate without reassessing the wider decision.

Avoid setting a fixed BNB balance from a tutorial. Trading volume, fee rates, product eligibility and BNB price can change. If you choose to maintain a buffer, define it from your own expected activity and risk tolerance, then review it in the signed-in account. Holding extra BNB is a separate market exposure, not a guaranteed saving.

Keep referral, VIP and BNB benefits separate

Maker or taker rate, VIP tier, referral benefit and BNB payment are different variables. One may alter the base rate, another the payment asset, and another a later reward. Do not add every published percentage.

The completed fill and account statement show the result actually applied.

Would the saving justify holding BNB?

That is an investment and operational decision, not a calculator result. BNB itself can move in price, and holding more than needed introduces market and custody risk. Compare the possible fee reduction with that exposure.

A fee benefit does not guarantee trading profitability. Estimate the saving from your realistic trading volume, not from an assumed maximum, and compare it with price movement and the effort of maintaining another asset.

How should BNB payment be compared with other choices?

Compare like with like: estimate the trading fee under the current account rate with and without an account-confirmed BNB benefit, then consider spread, slippage and the cost of acquiring or holding BNB separately. A cheaper explicit fee can be outweighed by a poor execution price. Referral benefits, VIP tiers and campaigns should be entered only when the account shows they apply to the same product.

For recordkeeping, retain the native fee asset and quantity, the fill details, and any conversion method used later. Tax treatment depends on jurisdiction, and paying a fee in a cryptoasset may have reporting consequences. Use qualified local advice rather than treating the platform’s display currency as a complete tax record.

When the records still do not agree

Contact Binance Support through the signed-in account when the fill record, fee schedule, setting and asset deduction cannot be reconciled after checking product, tier, role and available BNB. Provide order identifiers, timestamps, pair, fee asset and the exact discrepancy. Redact unrelated balances and never send a password, one-time code, authenticator backup or API secret.

Describe what the account showed instead of asserting a promised percentage. Terms and interface labels can vary by region and can change. The official case response and account ledger are stronger evidence than an old screenshot, calculator or affiliate statement.

Market risk: BNB can lose value. Do not buy or hold it solely because a fee-discount headline appears attractive.
